Guitar, Harmony & Theory, Music Technology	Hello everyone, My name is Irene Ketikidi and I am a qualified guitar tutor with a BMus in Popular Music Performance and a Licentiate in Music Teaching issued by Rockshool. With over 5 years worth of experience in private tuition (CRB checked), I am a guitar instructor and course lead for the International Guitar Foundation in London. I teach at my house, where all the equipment (guitars, amp etc.) is available for use during the lesson. My main concern is to ensure a fast and smooth progress, and I can guarantee that for every student as long as the practice routines are followed. Over the years, I have built my own syllabus according to this concept - it has worked for hundreds of students so far! Alternatively, Rockschool grades are available for students who would like to take the grade exams. Tuition includes in depth knowledge of the instrument (fretboard knowledge, chords, theory and harmony) and all the advanced techniques: alternate picking, sweep picking, left and right-hand tapping, bending, legato and vibrato. Songs of different styles are covered (rock, blues, funk etc), not only for building repertoire but also to help students with their own compositions. In addition, music technology tutorials are available for students who are happy with their level of playing, but would still like to improve their music production skills (recording/editing etc). As many young students do, I started out by studying hard rock music, but slowly expanded my horizons to Rock, Jazz, Latin and fingerstyle styles of playing. I also took classical guitar lessons to improve my right hand technique. I have a lot of experience performing with bands, both in the UK and in my home country of Cyprus. I am a very versatile musician (I also play Piano, I studied music theory/harmony/composition and currently learning to play the violin) which is, I think, a very important quality for any teacher. I have a BA (Hons) in Music and an MMus in Composing. I also have a Grade 8 in guitar and Grade 5 in Music theory, and also a lot of experience teaching a wide range of ages. I own and operate a very successful guitar teaching website and I am a self-published guitar-education author.
